Company History

Dan Hecht's history in the insurance industry goes back more than 40 years, when he worked for John Hancock while attending the University of Oregon. After graduation, he joined John Hancock as a full time agent, where he became a member of the Million Dollar Round Table and one of the company's leading life agents.

In 1968, Dan created Hecht & Hecht insurance with his father, Ben. Developing expertise in estate planning and employee benefits, Dan continues to excel, and a large part of his business now involves financial problem solving for companies both large and small. These solutions may include acting as a liaison between clients, attorneys and banks; securing adequate and low cost financing; and installing pension and profit sharing plans, and employee fringe benefit packages.

Larry Hecht joined his brother Dan and father Ben in the insurance business shortly after they established Hecht & Hecht. Larry specializes in providing business liability insurance, worker's compensation, builder's risk, and performance bonding packages to companies of all sizes and to individuals. He offers a solid background of successfully defining customer needs and developing comprehensive insurance packages from available domestic and international markets.

Today, the daily business at Hecht & Hecht is run by the third generation. Tricia Hecht-Glad is President of The Hecht Group, Evelyn Hecht is President of Hecht & Hecht Insurance and Joe Hecht is Vice President of Employee Benefit Sales.
